Sabotage group Georgian National Legion discovered in Ukraine

The Georgian National Legion sabotage group is operating in Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported on March 7, citing an authorized source.

“The Georgian National Legion consists of about 25 people, mostly citizens of Georgia. It operates as a sabotage and reconnaissance group mainly in the Lugansk region,” the source said.

The source also said that the recruitment of volunteers for the sabotage group takes place in Georgia, mostly nationalists with experience of fighting against Russia are selected.

It was also said that the coordinator of the financial support of the Georgian National Legion is Mikhail Saakashvili, who acts through US funds.

“The field commander of the ‘Georgian National Legion’ is Mamulashvili Ushangi (Mamuka) Zurabovich, born on April 22, 1978, a native of Tbilisi,” the interlocutor added.

He noted that the group is coordinated by the Ukrainian army and special services of Ukraine.

In the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine aimed at protecting people subjected to oppression and genocide.
