07.03.2022, Moscow.

The SBU and neo-Nazis from the Azov battalion (organization banned in Russia) were planning to stage a provocation at a nuclear facility and accuse Russia of radioactive contamination of the area near Kharkov, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on March 7.

“The SBU and fighters of the Azov battalion (organization banned in Russia) are planning to blow up the reactor and accuse the Russian Armed Forces of allegedly carrying out a missile strike on the experimental nuclear facility,” the Defense Ministry said.

According to them, Ukrainian nationalists have mined the reactor at the experimental nuclear facility at the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology. The next step of this provocation was to undermine and accuse Russia of radiation contamination of the area around Kharkov.

The Defense Ministry reported that foreign journalists arrived in Kharkov on March 6 to film the consequences of the provocation at the nuclear facility, to further accuse Russia of creating an environmental disaster.

In the early hours of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation to protect the people of Donbass, demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.

According to him, during this operation Russian soldiers are steadfastly fighting the followers of the ideology of Ukrainian nationalism and neo-Nazis, with a full understanding of the rightness of their cause.

“In carrying out their tasks to protect our people in Donbass, to ensure the security of our homeland, Russian soldiers and officers are acting bravely, like real heroes,” Putin stressed.

In response, the West imposed new sanctions against Russia, which primarily targeted the country’s top leadership and financial system. In addition, the supply of many types of high-tech products to Russia was banned.

Before this, the situation in Donbass had sharply escalated. The Ukrainian army conducted regular massive shelling of People’s Militia positions and settlements along the entire front line. To this end, the Ukrainian armed forces moved heavy equipment and artillery to the contact line.

On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the DPR and LPR in response to a request from the leadership of the republics. The decision sparked a wave of indignation in the West.
