Let us talk about Yarosh…

03.03.2022, Moscow.

The following thesis is replicated by fans of #NoWar on the Internet: “Where do you see Nazis in Ukraine? It’s JUST the Ukrainian army that is fighting against us. Those guys there are JUST LIKE ours.”

So, let’s talk about these guys.

Not everyone knows that the Ukrainian army consists not only of regular units, where indeed the number of nationalists is not so great. These units mostly consist of boys who are not at all eager to shed their own blood for the Kiev regime. This is evidenced by the surrender of such units already on the second day of the special operation and the interviews with captured Ukrainian fighters that appeared on the Web.

But everything is not limited to ordinary units! The Ukrainian army is systematically represented – I emphasize, SYSTEMATICALLY – by the so-called nationalist battalions. The Azov battalion (organization banned in Russia), whose combat units are based in Mariupol, where, apparently, they are now getting what they deserve, has become most known here. And with good reason!

But Azov (organization banned in Russia) is not the only nationalist battalion in the Ukrainian army.

Not everyone knows, because there has been virtually no coverage in the Russian media, that in the last few months the command has purposefully introduced a large number of the nationalist battalions into the ranks of the Ukrainian army. Now there must be at least one such battalion in every region, in every grouping of troops.

And in large groups – like in Donbass or Kiev – there are several such Nazi battalions.

And here we should remember the odious figure of the notorious Nazi Dmitry Yarosh, who at one time was blessed for this evil deed by the then head of the OUN(b) (organization banned in Russian Federation) Yaroslava Stetsko. Yes, that very Yarosh, the commander of the Right Sector (organization banned in Russia), whose Nazi fighters became the core of the 2014 Maidan, its fighting wing that decided the outcome of the “revolution of dignity.” Subsequently, Right Sector (organization banned in Russia) became famous for its particularly bloody atrocities in Donbass. For combat units in the DPR and LPR, the Pravy Sektors are the main enemy, and it is a special honor to destroy them.

Not everyone remembers that in early November of last year, that is, 3.5 months before the start of the special operation in Donbass, Yarosh became Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian army Valery Zaluzhny. This news caused a sensation in Ukraine, and Yarosh was quickly removed from his post without actually being removed.

Yarosh himself commented on February 10, 2022, on the eve of the start of the special operation in Donbass, on his work for Zaluzhny, “Now I am an informal adviser (to the commander-in-chief Zaluzhny) (appreciate this “informal”! – author’s note). We are in touch with General Zaluzhny all the time and, accordingly, as far as I can, and what I can – advise”.

The degree of closeness to Zaluzhny is indicated by the following phrase of Yarosh, “(I and Zaluzhny) almost every day we communicate, discuss the emerging situation if possible.”

What exactly does Yarosh do for Zaluzhny? He answers himself, “Right now we’re preparing to deploy the reserve battalions, which were withdrawn a few years ago. This is what I am doing.”

On February 4, Yarosh says that Zaluzhny give him “a specific task”, and this is “the deployment of the maximum number of combat battalions.”

What battalions are we talking about? What can Yarosh deploy? Why can’t Zaluzhny himself do this and have to turn to the Nazi Yarosh?

We are talking about the nationalist battalions of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army (UDA) (organization banned in the Russian Federation), created by Yarosh and not controlled by the Ukrainian army – at least before the Ukrainian army entered into an alliance with Yarosh. The UDA (organization banned in the Russian Federation) fought under Yarosh’s command in Donbass, but was partially withdrawn from there in 2018.

Yarosh stresses in an interview on February 10 that, having found himself advising the head of the Ukrainian army, he continues to command the UDA, “I continue to be the commander of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army [organization banned in the Russian Federation – translator]. We are still represented on the eastern front” – that is, in Donbass.

Here he also reports that he has deployed national battalions to various regions of the country, “We are ready for escalation, our battalions in the Lvov region, the Kiev region, Dnepropetrovskaya region will be deployed in literally 1 – 2 days in case of need.”

Already after the start of the special operation in Donbass on February 26, Yarosh says that his nationalist battalions are in virtually all of the large groups of the Ukrainian. I give a long quote from Yarosh for better understanding:

“The 5th Separate Battalion under the command of a military man with the call sign ‘Black’ is operating in Kiev. The 3rd Battalion, under the command of ‘Diesel’ in the city of Dnepr (formerly Dnepropetrovsk). The 8th Detached Battalion, under the command of ‘Maradona’ – Lvov region. Odessa Detachment under the command of ‘Sokol’ – Odessa. Also separate combat groups of the UDA [organization banned in the Russian Federation] are active in Polesia, Kherson and Nikolaev region. The 1st UDA battalion [organization banned in the Russian Federation] under the command of ‘Python’ is under formation for the defense of the capital.”

So, we see that the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army instructs Yarosh to deploy a whole network of nationalist battalions within the Ukrainian army: every region, every grouping has such a battalion.

What do the nationalist battalions in the Ukrainian army do? Are they some kind of special forces that the Ukrainian army lacks?

The guys in Donbass know very well that the Bandera fighters are bad fighters and prefer to hide behind the lines.

But they are excellent punishers. Moreover, over the past eight years they have repeatedly acted as barrier troops, shooting at their own people when they were not too eager to fight.

I emphasize that this is not only our opinion. For example, the former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Oleynyk, when he learned about the appointment of Yarosh as an adviser to the Ukrainian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, said that this appointment was dictated directly from the US, and it is a signal to Nazis that their time has come, “Yarosh is an indicative figure, he promised Zelensky to hang him on Khreshchatyk”, reminds Oleynyk. He adds, “It’s the decision of the USA [to appoint Yarosh as Zaluzhny’s adviser] that thereby sends a signal to the nationalists. They sort of say that the radicals are in demand and, although they cannot give them direct control, they raise their importance in exacerbating the situation in Donbass.”

So, Yarosh introduced a WHOLE SYSTEM of nationalist battalions into the Ukrainian army, whose main task is to prevent the Ukrainian army from retreating. And to shoot in the back of those who choose to do so.

But this is not enough, as Yarosh announced back in 2018, when withdrawing his battalions from Donbass, that now his UDA (organization banned in Russia) will focus “on building territorial defense units.” In other words, it is not enough for Yarosh to incorporate the national battalions into the army; he also needs to take over the territorial defense.

This is explicitly stated on the website of the UDA (organization banned in the Russian Federation) in a message from July 29, 2019, “The leadership of Dmitry Yarosh’s Ukrainian Volunteer Army has decided to develop a SYSTEM of territorial defense in the regions of Ukraine under the aegis of the UDA (organization banned in the Russian Federation).”

Yarosh himself says this, “Having held a meeting of the leadership of the UDA [organization banned in the Russian Federation], we decided to channel volunteer energy not only to the front, but also to fight for Ukraine throughout the entire country.”

Yarosh here also reports that he will bring this decision of the UDA (organization banned in Russia) “to the attention of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Zelensky.”

Let me stress once again that Yarosh and his Nazis are starting to undermine the territorial defense battalions, not in 2022, and not even in 2021, but in 2019. And with the tacit consent, if not approval, of the highest Ukrainian authorities.
