Venezuelan Foreign Minister calls on Latin America to unite

28.07.2021, Caracas.

Latin American countries need to create an alliance to strengthen integration and sovereignty, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza said on July 27, TeleSUR reported.

“There is a need for unification, integration, because the price of disunity and disintegration is infinitely high. We have the United States to the north, and we have not united but disunited the states of our America in the south,” the minister said.

Arreaza said the US has failed to impose itself on the world since the fall of the Soviet Union, as evidenced by the emergence of powers such as China and Russia, as well as other countries in Asia and Europe.

“We have to unite. If we don’t do that today, in two hundred years we will not exist as independent powers,” the Venezuelan Foreign Minister said.

According to the minister, Venezuela does not pose a threat to the US militarily because it has no missiles or arsenals and does not fight in other countries, but Venezuela promotes ideas that pose a threat to Washington.
