Kurginyan: “Shift” towards multi-polarity means preparation of all countries for war

15.10.2026, Moscow.

Any speculations about a multi-polar world are totally fictitious as all the countries are preparing for war at the same time, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on October 2 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.

The political scientist referred to statements by the PRC leader Xi Jinpin who always says that China wants globalization and a multi-polar world while mobilizing its resources for hostilities.

“The People’s Republic of China is implementing a mobilization program that is almost invisible for any uninvolved ordinary person. Xi Jinpin is implementing it continuously. Internal regions, secret stationing regions, mobilization reserves… The Chinese are inconspicuously getting prepared either for a super-large macro-regional conflict or for a world war. They are consistently getting prepared for it, because they know something,” Kurginyan noted.

According to the analyst, Xi Jinpin is doing this in a very inconspicuous and quiet manner, which does not improve his authority in the society but rather faces “reserved growl” about unnecessary expenditures.

Approximately from early 2020s China initiated a series of mobilization activities, in particular the construction of “third line” facilities. Experts draw parallel between these activities of the PRC and the major mobilization programs of the period of preparation for war against the USSR in 1960s – 1970s after an ideological split took place between China and the Soviet Union.

Indicative examples of the preparation for war are statements of certain countries that they are planing to become nuclear powers in the near future.

“In Sweden, an important role is played by a party calling itself ‘democratic.’ It consists of former Swedish SS members. It says, ‘We were preparing nuclear weapons, we have everything ready. Tomorrow we can include it, and we must include it,’” the political scientist explains.

It is “The Sweden Democrats” party established in 1988 by persons connected to ultra-rightist Nazi movements including veterans of radical nationalist organizations and former activists of the Swedish Nazi movement. Its leader Jimmie Åkesson recently reminded about Sweden’s own nuclear program, and he suggested that the Swedes should resume it.

Kurginyan reminded that Germany also can very quickly – “they need just one month for it” – launch its nuclear weapons program.

Germany possesses all the necessary materials and technologies to make nuclear weapons, Director General of the IAEA Rafael Grossi said in July 2025. According to him, making such weapons would take the Federal Republic of Germany several months. This information was confirmed by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia.

Similar intentions were expressed by Japanese politicians, too, the political scientist notes. “Japan, carefully maneuvering around three principles – no production, no use, no possessing – says, ‘Well, we really need it, time is ripe!’ And this is very quick.”

Indeed, nuclear weapons expert Yoshiaki Yano said back in 2022 that Tokyo could make a nuclear bomb within several days. It has both delivery vehicles and guidance technologies available. Japan already possesses fissile material to make a nuclear bomb. According to the Japanese military official, only “irrational ideological restrictions” prevent the Japanese people from possessing nuclear weapons.

Among the countries seeking to become nuclear powers Kurginyan also named Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Saudi Arabia invested in Pakistani nuclear weapons projects, and it believes it can obtain nuclear bombs when its wants them.

“Pakistan is a nuclear power that has long made an agreement that Saudi Arabia would have nuclear weapons. The latter provides financing, and the former holds them as a reserve to be promptly handed over,” the analyst reminded.

In Turkey, the idea of making nuclear weapons has also been on the rise over several recent years, finding support among more than 71% Turkish citizens.

Therefore, Kurginyan reminded about the Mecca Pact signed on August 7 by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey during the ongoing US and Israeli war against Iran and the resumed conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemeni Houthis. The Pact is intended to ensure collective deterrence of aggression against any of the countries.
