Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushylin signed a decree on July 19 on the creation of the state corporation Almaz, designed to implement the republic’s state policy in the defense industry. The text of the decree was posted on July 19 on the official website of the DPR head.
According to the decree, the corporation will “develop, produce and promote the development, production and export of military, civilian and dual-use products, and will participate in social and other socially significant projects.”
The corporation will consist of a number of DPR enterprises, including Topaz state-owned enterprise, Donetsk government chemical products plant, state-owned enterprise Makeyevka State Project Institute, state enterprise “Research Institute of Complex Automation”, and state enterprise “State Research Institute of Plastic Masses”.
Over the years of its existence, the Donetsk People’s Republic has developed a number of original weapons, such as the Snezhinka rocket system, which is a two-missile fighting vehicle with a claimed range of up to 9600 meters, and the Cheburashka multiple-launch rocket system (a fighting vehicle with 64 rocket rails with a claimed range of 9600 meters).
