Kurginyan: Democracy leads third world countries into the ghetto

06.05.2021, Moscow.

Democratic procedures, for example, in Egypt, where most of the people think religiously, will quickly lead Islamists to power, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 26 on the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One channel.

Kurginyan illustrated the possibility of democracy in Islam by the following dialogue with a US politician, “Why are sharia and democracy incompatible?” ― “Whose authority do you mean when you say democracy?” He says, “The authority of the people.” ― “But what is sharia about? It is about the democracy of Allah. And this is irrevocable.”

“If you give it free rein you get ‘The Muslim Brotherhood’ (organization banned in Russia) and then… you get ‘The Islamic Jihad’ (organization banned in Russia),” Kurginyan explained.

“Why do they give it free rein in countries with a strong tribal archaicism and Islamism in categories that are far from enlightened Islam?”

“Because they do not need the huge number of people, especially developing, across the periphery. The new post-capitalism, schizo-capitalism, whatever you call it ― it does not need the developing periphery of the humanity,” the political scientist believes.

According to Kurginyan, the times of Kipling with his “white man’s burden” passed long ago. A situation is deliberately created in the world in which a ghetto will appear across the periphery, and people will be dying.

“For the most part of the humanity the motto of democracy in its current form is a motto of non-development and degradation forced to the periphery. Then this periphery will come to a condition when the question will arise as to whether people need it,” the leader of Essence of Time concluded.
