The Ukrainian military fired at least seven mortar shells on southern Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). A DPR representative to the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination said this to journalists on April 27.
He specified that the shelling in the direction of Kominternovo village began at 6.07 a.m. (local time).
“Seven 120mm mortar shells were fired,” the DPR representative said.
The Ukrainian authorities began a military operation against the DPR and LPR in April 2014, after the republics declared their independence, not wanting to be part of the country after the coup in February 2014.
According to the UN, around 13000 civilians died as a result of the conflict.
