The People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) is authorized to open retaliatory fire, the press service of the DPR’s People’s Militia (DPR PM) Directorate informed on March 3.
This decision was taken due to the lack of a proper response from international observers to the shelling of DPR towns and villages by the Ukrainian army, the press service of the People’s Militia said.
“Due to the lack of response from international observers to the continued shelling of populated areas of the Republic, in order to protect the population from the Ukrainian terror, the units of the People’s Militia were authorized to open retaliatory fire to suppress and destroy enemy firing points,” the DPR PM press service said in a statement.
On the night of March 3, the Ukrainian army heavily shelled Leninskoye village, firing 100 82mm mortar shells. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
