Ukrainian security forces shelled the outskirts of Donetsk using grenade launchers and mortars, the Donetsk People’s Republic mission to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire wrote on its website on January 21.
“Today at 11:05 am, the Ukrainian military units opened fire on Staromikhaylovka (Donetsk suburbs) using mortars and different types of grenade launchers. A residential building on Chkalova Street 32 was damaged as a result of a direct hit. No casualties were reported, more detailed information is being specified,” the department reported.
Earlier, additional measures for maintaining ceasefire on the territory of Donbass came into force. They in particular imply a complete ceasefire, a ban on the deployment of weapons in and near villages and towns. Violations of ceasefire implies disciplinary responsibility.
Ukrainian soldiers violated the ceasefire six times on January 17. Gorlovka, Zaitsevo, Kominternovj, Leninskoye and Dzerzhynskoye were shelled.
