Ukrainian army shells Lugansk People’s Republic before Trilateral Contact Group talks

The Ukrainian servicemen violated the ceasefire twice over 24 hours at the front line in the Lugansk People’s Republic, an official from the LPR People’s Militia reported on December 15.

According to the report, Ukrainian servicemen from the 92nd Brigade of the Ukrainian army at 4.45 PM (Moscow time zone) on December 14 shelled the village of Kalinovo-Borshchevatoye firing 5 shells from an 82-mm mortar.

The servicemen from the 92nd Brigade opened fire from positions in the village of Zolotoye-4 15 at 6.45 PM (Moscow time zone) against the village of Zolotoye-5 firing one grenade from a GP-25 under-barrel grenade launcher.

According to the official, the Ukrainian military continues building up their equipment near the front line. Observers reported two combat vehicles near Popasnaya and one armored personnel carrier near the village of Druzhba from the 92nd Brigade, and one reconnaissance vehicle from the 80th Brigade near Schastye.

The observers from the Joint Center for Control and Coordination reported the shelling of the village of Molodyozhnoye by the Ukrainian army using 1 grenade from SPG-9 and 29 grenades from AGS-17 on December 13.

On December 12, units of the Ukrainian army fired 3 grenades from AGS-17 against the positions of the People’s Militia near the village of Lozovoye from their positions in Svetlodarsk.

On December 15-16, the final session of the talks of the Trilateral Contact Group for the implementation of the Minsk agreements is to take place. The representatives of the republics will propose for discussion the issue of coordinating the operation of two checkpoints built at the contact line.
