The Ukrainian military have violated the conditions of the additional measures for ceasefire monitoring as they deployed an armored fighting vehicle near residential buildings in the village of Troitskoye, the spokesman of the People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic Yakov Osadchy said at a briefing on August 6.
According to the Militia spokesman, the situation at the contact line remained quiet over the previous 24 hours, as the JCCC did not report any violations of ceasefire by Ukrainian army units.
The People’s Militia officer stressed that the Ukrainian military used the ceasefire period to lay mines around their positions. Observers have found seven anti-tank mines on the road near the village of Zolotoye-4.
“Electromagnetic warfare maneuver teams from the 20th Independent Electromagnetic Warfare Battalion of the Ukrainian army reportedly operated near the village of Popasnaya, in the operating area of the 30th Brigade, to suppress the control and navigation channels of the SMM drones in an attempt to conceal the deployment of military equipment and ceasefire violations,” Yakov Osadchy explained.
Additional measures of ceasefire monitoring are in place since July 27 in Donbass, which the Trilateral Contact Group signed in Minsk.
The document contains seven ceasefire monitoring provisions. First, any changes to the text and the conditions of the agreements, by an order or otherwise, are banned. Second, fire must not be opened without an order of the Supreme High Command, and any perpetrators must be brought to justice. Third, entrenchment lines must not be changed, and fortifications must not be improved. Fourth, air force and drones must not be used. Fifth, any offensive as well as subversive and reconnaissance operations are banned. Sixth, an order covering all the provisions listed above must be communicated to the units. Seventh, the measures become effective at 0.01 a.m., Moscow time zone, on July 27.
According to the JCCC observers in the Lugansk People’s Republic, the Ukrainian unit followed the ceasefire regime in the period from August 1 to 5. On July 31, the Ukrainian military used a drone to attack the positions of the PDR servicemen near the Pervomaysk ― Popasnaya road. They dropped three VOG-17 grenades wounding two People’s Militia servicemen with fragments.
