Protests against SDF held in north-eastern Syria

06.08.2020, Damascus.

Residents of the city of Ras Al-Ain held the protests against the lawlessness of the Syrian democratic forces (SDF) on August 5, a Rossa Primavera News Agency’s source in Syria informs.

“A protest was held in Ras al-Ain town in northern Hasaka province demanding that the SDF must be expelled from Deir Ez-Zor province and those who killed the local sheikhs were found,” the source said.

Earlier, in northern Syria, local tribes had armed themselves and opposed the policy pursued by the Kurdish SDF. On August 5, they managed to reconquer two settlements in Deir Ez-Zor province controlled by the Kurds.

The tribes are dissatisfied with the forced mobilization regularly carried out by the SDF, corruption, and the unwillingness of the SDF to investigate the elimination of Sheikh of the Al-Aqidat tirbe Musthtar Al-Hafele.

According to the Turkish think tank Jusoor, which specializes in analyzing the Syrian events, ISIL fighters (organization banned in Russia) are trying to join the war of tribes against the Kurds.
