Maduro: Two of Trump’s bodyguards were detained during attempted “Bay of Pigs” invasion

Two of the US President’s personal bodyguards are among those detained0 participants of the armed naval attack, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said during a speech broadcast on his Twitter on May 4.

One of the detainees during the incursion attempt claimed that the group included two Americans from Trump’s security team,” stated Maduro.

After Maduro’s statement, a video from a police van was shown, where one of the detainees said that the Americans told him that he works for Trump’s security advisers. Documents and photos of the detained militants, their weapons and radio communication equipment, camouflage and night vision devices were also shown.

According to Maduro, now all the detainees are at the naval base in the state of La Guaira, where an attempt was made to invade from the sea. Maduro suspected that the attempted invasion is connected with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s words about the reopening of the US Embassy in Venezuela.

On May 3, a group of militants tried to invade the territory of Venezuela from the sea, in the state of La Guaira. The militants tried to invade the country in speedboats. Eight attackers were killed and ten were detained.
