Brexit Party leads in EU Parliamentary elections in the UK

The Brexit Party is in the lead in the UK’s EU Parliamentary elections, BBC reports on May 26.

According to the results in 100 out of 373 electoral districts, the Brexit Party took the lead with 31.9% of the votes.

The ruling Conservative Party ended up in the fifth place with 7.9% of the British voters. Pro-EU Liberal Democrats received 12.5% of the vote.

It should be mentioned that the last EU Parliament elections took place five years ago. In 2014, the Conservative Party received 23.1% of the vote, and 6% of citizens voted for the Liberal Democrats.
