Donetsk People’s Republic: Ukrainian army draws heavy artillery to contact line

29.01.2018, Donetsk.

The Ukrainian side has deployed heavy artillery at the contact line with the DPR, the Deputy Operations Commander of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Eduard Basurin told journalists on January 29, RIA Novosti reported.

“Our reconnaissance has found firing positions of artillery banned by the Minsk agreements in the heavy artillery restriction area. For example, near the Kurakhovo settlement (under Kiev’s control ― Rossa Primavera Information Agency), firing positions of three 122 mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery vehicles have been found,” Eduard Basurin said.

He also said that four 152 mm howitzers were found near the settlement of Zhelannoye Vtoroye under Kiev’s control.

According to the Minsk agreements, heavy weapons must be removed at least 50 kilometers away from the contact line.
