The situation at the front-line remains tense. The Ukrainian army is active on the Gorlovka, Donetsk, and Mariupol directions, a source in the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on April 23rd.
During April 23rd, trench combat erupted in the area of Zaytsevo and north of Uglegorsk, in the area of the “Yasinovataya” checkpoint and near the village of Spartak, on the Dokuchaevsk part of the front, in the area of the villages of Kominternovo and Sakhanka. The enemy utilized artillery and small arms. In the evening, the Ukrainian army intensified the shelling of the DPR PM positions in Avdeevka industrial zone.
The main news of the day was the explosion of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission’s car on an anti-tank mine in Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR). One representative of the mission Josef Stone, of British citizenship, was killed, two OSCE monitors from Germany and Czech Republic were wounded. It became known that the car was off the beaten path and was traveling on a secondary road. The secondary road is 2 km away from the contact line, and the local residents do not use this road. According to LPR People’s Militia Command, the explosive device was placed by the Ukrainian sabotage-recon group.
On April 22nd, the Ukrainian army violated ceasefire 41 times. 13 towns and villages of DPR came under Ukrainian artillery fire. 11 houses were damaged as a result of the shelling. The enemy shelled the houses on Lenin and Polevaya streets in Dokuchaevsk, as well as the apartment building on Poletaev and Krasnyye Partizany streets in Gorlovka.
