We have recently told about the disastrous state of the Donetsk “Centennial” (“Yubileiny”) Sports Palace – the legendary sports complex, which only recently raised Soviet world boxing champions. The building was shelled by Armed Forces of Ukraine multiple times, all windows are blasted out, the equipment is out of order. We had spread the word and caring people responded. Thanks to the aid of congregants of Russian Orthodox Church in Florida (USA), who raised 1000 dollars, we already bought a part of the required equipment.
New punching bags, gloves, bag mitts, helmets, mouthguards, skipping ropes, hand grippers and many other things currently necessary for the rebirth of the Palace of Sports will arrive this week to “Yubileiny”, which is pretty much the only healthy place for youth to spend leisure time in this district of Donetsk.
For full launch back into activity they still need metal barbells, sledgehammers, weight plates and dumbbells. Join and help!
