Legion of Freedom militants are provoking clashes in Lopaskino

16.11.2016, Donbass.

Nationalists of Ukrainian territorial defense battalion Legion of Freedom attempted to provoke clashes with the servicemen of the People’s Militia of Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) near Lopaskino village since November 2016, the spokesperson of LPR People’s Militia Major Andrey Marochko informed during a briefing in Lugansk Information Centre on November 15th.

He also mentioned that this situation indicates the unwillingness of Ukrainian authorities to adhere to the ceasefire agreements and Kiev’s further attempts to escalate the conflict in Donbass.

Despite the provocations, LPR military units do not open return fire,” Marochko stressed.

Marochko underlined earlier that Kiev’s militants were trying to destabilize the situation at the contact line by conducting provocations and diversions.

He also informed that Ukrainian military Command is continuing to replace Ukrainian army units deployed in Zolotoye town, with the units of the national battalions including the so-called Right Sector volunteer corps and Crimean Tatar Battalion.

LPR People’s Militia also claimed that Krasny Yar village at the contact line was at risk of becoming a new flashpoint because of the shellings started by the nationalist units deployed by Kiev in this area.
