Terrorists open fire on Syrian towns and villages 38 times over the day

Militants violated the ceasefire in the Idlib de-escalation zone 38 times over the day, the Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring in the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR) informed on June 7.

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission reported 38 ceasefire violations in the Idlib de-escalation zone over the day. The ceasefire was violated 11 times in Latakia province, 19 times in Idlib province, and 8 times in Hama province.

The Syrian side confirmed 36 ceasefire violations. Specific groups that violated the ceasefire were not named.

The Turkish side in the commission reported 12 ceasefire violations in the Idlib zone, but the Russian mission did not confirm any of these cases.

The Russian and Turkish military monitor the observance of the ceasefire in the Idlib de-escalation zone as part of the agreement between Russia, Turkey, and Iran. Under this agreement, de-escalation zones were created in Syria.

A ceasefire has been in effect in the Idlib zone since March 6, 2020.
