US "peacemaking": Senate approves allocation of money to Ukraine for weapons

New financial aid package has been approved, the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States wrote. The Ukrainian diplomatic mission posted this information on its official Facebook page on August 2nd.

The corresponding item is reported to be listed in the US Defense budget for 2019, approved by the US Senate.

According to the new bill, Ukraine will be allocated $ 250 million for security with $ 50 million to be spent for lethal weapons.

It is also noted in the draft budget that the US is planning to assist Ukraine in organizing security in cyberspace.

The US national security budget must be approved by the US President as well as the House of Representatives and the Senate. The US defense budget for this year has risen to a huge amount of $ 717 billion that makes it the largest military budget in the world.
