Sergey Kurginyan’s book Essence of Time is an important update and expansion to classical Marxism, members of the American left-wing and anti-imperialist movement said at a meeting with the chief editor of the book’s English translation team on January 13 in Seattle, a correspondent of the Rossa Primavera Information Agency reports.
“Discussing the topic of the spirit as an essential component of both the victory and the defeat of communism in Russia helps us to gain a deeper understanding regarding the nature of the current struggle against fascism, which has returned to the global arena,” a participant of the meeting said.
During the event, the editor answered a number of questions from the readers about the book’s content, and the conclusions that one can make on its basis regarding the anti-imperialist struggle. The readers also specifically requested that the translation of the book, which is currently being published on the Essence of Time international web site, should be made available in hard copy as well.
The meeting’s participants included members of American left-wing organizations from the International League of Peoples’ Struggle, a broad international coalition of anti-imperialist forces chaired by the founder and leader of the Communist Party of the Philippines, Jose Maria Sison.
During the discussion, special emphasis was made on the problems of the people’s liberation struggle in the setting of conventional and non-conventional war. The participants of the meeting expressed their unwavering solidarity with the people of Donbass in their rightful struggle against the fascist coup in Ukraine.
The Essence of Time online lecture series, which was launched in March 2011, was published in the form of a book in 2012. The translation of the book into English began in 2017. To date, the first 10 chapters of the book have been translated and published on the Essence of Time international web site.
