The Ukrainian army is provoking combat at all parts of the front by continuing the heavy shelling of the towns and villages of Donetsk Peoples Republic (DPR), a source in the DPR People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on March 2nd.
On the north direction, the northern and western suburbs of Gorlovka, the villages of Dolomitnoye, Zaytsevo, Shirokaya Balka, and Ozeryanovka came under fire. Ukrainian military utilized mortars of various calibers, machine guns, automatic grenade launchers and recoilless anti-tank guns.
The situation is tense on the Donetsk direction. In the area of the “Yasinovataya” checkpoint and of Avdeevka industrial zone, Ukrainian military continue provoking DPR PM units to return fire. In the night, the Ukrainian army shelled the western suburbs of Donetsk, one house in the village of Trudovskiye was damaged. In the afternoon, Yasinovataya, the villages of Yakovlevka, Zhabichevo, and Spartak were heavily shelled by the Ukrainian artillery. Around 40 artillery and mortar shells were fired.
In the morning, the villages of Sakhanka and Kominternovo of the Novoazovsky district of DPR have been heavily shelled for over 3 hours. In the afternoon, the Ukrainian army opened fire on the village of Leninskoye with 122mm artillery and 120mm mortars.
Ukrainian military are pulling multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) up closer and closer to the front line. On the Mariupol direction, DPR PM intelligence uncovered the location of a battery of BM-21 “Grad” MLRS in the area of the village of Primorskoye.
During the past day, March 1st, the Ukrainian army shelled the front-line territory of DPR 1,520 times. Dolomitnoye, Zaytsevo, Krutaya Balka, Yasinovataya, Vasilevka, Spartak, the area of the former Donetsk airport, Staromikhailovka, the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, Yasnoye, Dokuchaevsk, Naberezhnoye, Oktyabr, Kominternovo, Leninskoye, Sakhanka, Bezymennoye came under the Ukrainian military’s fire.
