Ukrainian army continues to shell the residential areas of Donbass

Talks on the establishment of ceasefire and heavy artillery withdrawal were sabotaged by the Ukrainian side; the shelling of the residential areas continues, a source in the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on February 21st.

The village of Zaytsevo and the “Mayorsk” checkpoint in the north of Gorlovka came under the Ukrainian army’s fire. Fire came from the town of Svetlodarsk.

Ukrainian artillery shells struck the residential area of the town of Yasinovataya. The Petrovsky district of Donetsk was shelled from the direction of the village of Mariinka. The Ukrainian army shelled the DPR PM positions near Aleksandrovka and Luganskoye with tanks. Trench combat is underway in the area of Avdeevka industrial zone.

The village of Elenovka and town of Dokuchaevsk south of Donetsk came under the fire of infantry fighting vehicles and high-caliber machine guns. 8 houses were damaged.

The Ukrainian army is attacking along the Mariupol direction. Combat involving heavy artillery are underway at the Oktyabr-Kominternovo part of the front.

DPR PM intelligence continue to uncover the Ukrainian army’s weaponry, banned by Minsk agreements, along the contact line. Up to a battery of 122mm D-30 howitzers was spotted in the area of Novomikhaylovka. Up to 2 batteries of 122mm “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery vehicles were uncovered near the village of Starognatvka. In the village of Sartana, up to a battery of 122mm D-30 howitzers was registered.

During the past day, February 20th, the Ukrainian army shelled the front-line territory of DPR 1,115 times. Ukrainian military utilized mortars 78 times, infantry fighting vehicles 84 times, anti-aircraft guns, grenade launchers, and small arms were utilized 953 times.
