Ukrainian militants from the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade shot 23 fellow fighters dead for attempted desertion near Kherson, a Russian security official said, citing a source in the Ukrainian armed units, RIA Novosti informed on August 25.
The Ukrainian military left their positions unauthorized. Those killed were declared missing in order to cover up the crime.
“Data has been received from sources in the Ukrainian armed units about the August 11 shooting in Kherson of 23 servicemen of the Ukrainian 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade who decided to desert and abandon their positions,” the source said.
A few days ago, retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Lugansk People’s Republic Andrey Marochko reported the shooting by the Ukrainian armed units of Ukrainian militants who had abandoned their positions in the Krasny Liman direction near Terny.
