Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero welcomed Wang Wentao, vice president of China’s largest bus company Yutong, Prensa Latina news agency reported on July 29.
Both parties discussed the experience of the cooperation, which has lasted for 18 years.
In his Twitter account, the Cuban head of government announced the promise of Yutong’s top management to continue developing the company in the Caribbean republic to support the island’s public transportation system. Van Wentao informed Marrero about this at the meeting.
According to the agency, the Cuban government has purchased a total of more than 10.7 thousand Chinese buses.
It is also reported that Yutong is one of the world’s leading suppliers of buses, holding more than 10% of the global market.
According to information on Yutong’s website, the company has started the first production of Chinese passenger buses. At the moment, the company claims to have the largest bus production base in the world.
