The Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin signed the order on the creation of the federal state unitary enterprise (FSUE) Novorossiya Railways. The document was published on the website of the Russian government on May 31.
The organization unites the railroads of the republics of Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
“The decision will make it possible to build unified logistics in these four regions, update the fleet of cars and locomotives, as well as create a unified system for managing the process of transportation,” the government press service said.
The new company will be under the jurisdiction of the Federal Rail Transport Agency, and the head office of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise will be in Donetsk.
The organization will include the enterprises Donetsk Railway, Lugansk Railway, Kherson Railway, Melitopol Railway and the concern Railways of Donbass. Employees of these organizations will be able to transfer to Novorossia Railways.
