Lavrov urges the USA not to interfere in relations between Russia and South Africa

31.05.2023, Moscow.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov advised the US ambassador to South Africa to stay out of other people’s business at a briefing on May 31.

In response to a question about the statement of the US ambassador to South Africa on weapons delivery to Russia, Sergey Lavrov said, “If the US or any other foreign, overseas ambassador seemed something, he should generally know his place and stay out of other people’s business.”

According to Lavrov, Russia never violates international norms regarding arms transfers.

“But our Western colleagues violate them by declaring neutrality with regard to the events in Ukraine and pumping this country with a huge number of modern, long-range weapons, which are also dangerous for those who use them,” the Russian foreign minister explained.
