The escalation of the situation on the so-called “Svetlodar salient” continues. Fierce fighting is underway in the area of Logvinovo and Kalinovka villages, heavy artillery and armored vehicles is being used. DPR People’s Militia Command informs that recon groups of nationalist units belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine are active. The Ukrainian side suffers heavy losses in battles on Debaltsevo direction, this is confirmed by a large number of killed and wounded delivered to morgues and hospitals of Artyomovsk.
Trench warfare took place on the northern and western outskirts of Gorlovka throughout the day, Zaytsevo, Golmovsky and Shyrokaya Balka villages came under fire.
On the Donetsk direction Spartak and Krutaya Balka villages in the north of the city, as well as Aleksandrovka and Trudovskie on the west of the capital came under Ukrainian military’s artillery fire. Shootouts in the area of Yasinovataya checkpoint and Avdeevka industrial zone are being reported.
Today Yasnoye village in the area of Dokuchaevsk came under Ukrainian military’s fire. Two houses and a kindergarten were damaged.
Sakhanka, Leninskoye and Kominternovo villages in the south of the Republic were shelled.
DPR recon registered up to a battery of 122mm “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery guns (SPGs) on the Gorlovka direction, in the area of Dzerzhinsk. Positions of a battery of “Akatsiya” 152mm SPGs were discovered on the Donetsk direction, in the area of occupied Avdeevka.
According to updated information, on December 19 Ukrainian military fired on frontline districts of Donetsk People’s Republic 1579 times.
