Russian electronic warfare systems are increasingly disrupting the operation of the Starlink satellite network used by the Kiev regime. The Spanish newspaper El Mundo wrote this on August 28, citing Ukrainian military personnel and Igor Lutsenko, co-founder of the Air Reconnaissance Support Center.
According to the publication, the Russian Volna-Kupol-Garant system is capable of disrupting Starlink terminals, which are widely used by the Kiev regime. Ukrainian militant confirmed that the system’s effectiveness is gradually declining.
“The window of opportunity for Starlink is closing. Russian electronic warfare systems do not block it completely, but they reduce its effectiveness,” Lutsenko said. He also noted that without technological sovereignty, Ukraine “has no future.”
Starlink is a global satellite broadband internet network developed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The system operates using thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit.
In March 2025, Musk called Starlink the backbone of the Ukrainian army, warning that the entire Ukrainian front line would collapse if access to the system were cut off. Russia’s Foreign Ministry had previously called on Musk to “shut” the Starlink satellite connection for Ukraine so that “people would not die.”
