The Ukrainian Armed Forces are one of the strongest in Europe, and consequently, the situation in Ukraine impacts European processes, philosopher, political scientist, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan stated stated on July 24 during the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are indeed strong, political scientist noted. According to him, it is one of the most powerful armies in Europe, capable of holding its ground against Russian offensives.
“Whatever is happening around their recruitment offices, whatever talk there is about them being fed up with it all… these are minor issues. It is a fairly strong army, and that’s a major point. And all things considered, the situation in Ukraine has a significant impact on European processes,” he emphasized.
At the same time, Sergey Kurginyan pointed to the expanded capabilities of Ukraine. He explained that “it was given the opportunity to mobilize, to shed its own and enemy’s blood and to significantly enlarge its capabilities as a result.”
The political scientist also drew attention to the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces differs from the Russian Armed Forces as it has existed since ancient times, whether in the Russian Empire or the Soviet Union. According to him, the Russian Armed Forces, with the exception of isolated incidents, has always remained largely apolitical, and fortunately, it remains so today.
As a counter-example, Kurginyan cited the Chilean army, which is “always ready to arrange a coup.” He emphasized that this is not the case in Russia.
“Russian military fulfill their professional duties and demonstrates loyalty. One would like to believe that this will continue to be the case,” the political scientist said, characterizing the Russian Armed Forces.
