The process of Europe’s militarization will sooner or later result in an armed conflict with Russia, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on April 3 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.
According to the political scientist, although militarization of the NATO member states finds rather negative attitude in the Western society today, pressure from US President Donald Trump will not only raise the payments to the alliance’s budget by the member states and further increase military production, but it will also militarize the population itself.
“Any conservative force starts from MAGA (Make America Great Again) but it ends with a war. It is internally militarized. <…> ‘We have the best army on the globe’ – this is the key thing in the logic that we should take into account. It begins with something peaceful and different: we withdraw from all the places, we have no wars, we establish peace everywhere, – but it ends with outrageous military conflicts,” Sergey Kurginyan explained.
The philosopher believes that the processes that are unfolding in Eastern Europe will completely re-configure entire Europe. And this re-configuring will take place in an absolutely militarist manner with Russia being fixed as an enemy. According to the leader of Essence of Time, these processes will result, among other things, in re-formatting of the last pro-Russian forces in the Western society, and there will no more anyone pro-Russian.
In the interview he also expressed concern about what kind of political formations can appear as a result of even a conservative militarization.
“[US Vice President JD] Vance is reformatting Europe in a sort of a conservative militarist manner. And suppose he will keep it under control. Or maybe he will not. Or maybe he will lose this control, and a new Reich etc. will appear there,” Sergey Kurginyan warned.
Also, the philosopher believes that the processes of militarization, arms race, and other kinds of indirect confrontations will have to end with something in any event.
“If the militarization of the population is ongoing, if the militarization of the economy is ongoing, if all these sovereignizations are ongoing, if these re-configuring and re-grouping is ongoing, then sooner or later this rifle hanging on the wall must go off,” he explained.
According to the leader of Essence of Time, we must not underrate the statements by US conservative forces that they have no plans against the Russians, because this does not mean that Russia will be left alone.
“Why do not they want to go against the Russians? Why? Tell the whole story! ‘Because they must be used against China.’ But do the Russians want to be used against China? Does China want the Russians to be used against it?” Sergey Kurginyan asks.
The political scientist expressed confidence that behind the declared peacefulness of the US and its readiness to come to some agreements there is such a destructive militarized energy that the Ukrainian conflict cannot be compared to.
