In its military conflict with the US Iran shows that the key factor is not military power and technological superiority per se, but the readiness of the people and the elite to pay the costs, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on April 17 on the Right to Know program on TVC.
The political scientist stressed that, speaking about US domestic political situation and the positions of President Donald Trump, we must always remember about the key circumstance, Iran’s behavior.
“There are other factors that we must discuss as well, but the key factor is Iran, the phenomenon of Iran itself, Iran’s behavior,” Sergey Kurginyan said.
The analyst indicated the great importance of such factors as “the expectance level of this specific kind of behavior, the consequences of this kind of behavior for the mindset of the most hard-line US military officials.”
Kurginyan reminded that Iran has a much smaller potential than the US. “It is incomparable in population, technical potential, economy,” the analyst listed.
He compared Iran in its current situation with the tribes that “challenged Rome on the latest phase of its existence.” Meanwhile, Rome itself believed that the powers were incomparable.
“The iron foot of the legions, huge resources, opposed by some wild tribes in shacks of willow and clay. How can we lose?” the political scientist reminded the position of the decaying Roman Empire. However, it lost those situations.
“The point is not the military power of the United States of America, which is also not as simple as it seems,” he indicated.
“The point is the role of the human factor, the factor of the readiness of the population to pay the costs combined with the system of governance, technical capabilities etc., in the hostilities,” Sergey Kurginyan explained.
