Kurginyan explains how Zionism shapes Israeli mentality

Zionism is not only about building the national state of Israel, but also about shaping a certain type of an Israeli, philosopher, political scientist, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan explained on March 6 on the Conversation with the Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.

Commenting on the military actions unleashed by Israel and the United States against Iran, the political scientist also assessed the Israeli population’s ability to comprehend the scale of the created escalation in the Middle East. Sergey Kurginyan also revealed that one of the leaders of the Israeli intelligence services had once told him, “All my interests are on the nearest bank of the Jordan River.”

Well, you are screwed if your interests lay there, because you have taken a global position,” the political scientist commented on the Israeli intelligence officer’s statement.

Kurginyan explained that claiming global interests requires citizens of an appropriate character, and Israel has been cultivating citizens of a completely different kind in recent years, he said.

“Zionism is created (people don’t always understand) in fierce opposition to the concept of a Jew of the diaspora. A Jew of the diaspora is an abomination to a Zionist. All these violinists, mathematicians… are easy to beat,” the political scientist emphasized.

And the Israeli authorities needed a so-called “Sabra,” the expert said; that is a simple, local young man. “This means muscularity, shooting guns, running, loyalty to the national idea, ideally a willingness to serve in the army, and, to put it mildly, below-average intelligence, and if intelligence is present, it’s purely pragmatic – enough to able to calculate a mathematical problem, fine-tune a software product,” Kurginyan explained.

The analyst noted that today, the humanitarian culture of the people who developed many brilliant ideas in the past has, as of today, been effectively reduced to nothing, precisely in Israel and precisely for ideological reasons. “The same thing is happening with the so-called technocratic-pragmatic decision-making elites,” he added.

All these energetic young men, dry alcoholics, who at the same time used to address the audience on some online platforms in a very plain and rough manner, and who are now leading the army or something else, they represent a certain contingent. I don’t mean to say they’re completely worthless. It is an asymmetry,” the analyst stated.

At the same time, these are people who are quite capable in practical matters, he added. “He [the modern Israeli – Rossa Primavera News Agency] is good at hitting the target, he reacts quickly to anything, he redeploys armed units from one place to another,” the political scientist noted.

To illustrate what’s happening in the Middle East, Kurginyan suggested listening to a following verse by Vladimir Vysotsky, a Soviet singer-songwriter, poet, and actor: “And the praised notorious Fischer [a reference to a chess grandmaster and the world champion from the US – translator’s note] immediately agreed to a draw.” According to him, similar personality traits can be seen in the behavior of US President Donald Trump:

I shouted, “Are you out of your minds?

You’ve ruined chess’s prestige!”

And they told me in our sports department,

“Aha, great – you’ll defend it!”

This describes the current US elites very well,” the political scientist noted.

It’s a bit scary to attack with a rook,

To deliver a right hook to the jaw – it seems a bit early…

I accidentally exposed my bicep,

And the praised notorious Fischer

Immediately agreed to a draw.

“Now I exert pressure, and there’ll be a deal: they will pay me money and so on. Now the whole world understands that this is true,” Kurginyan explained Trump’s behavior.

“But there are some serious people behind this. They are the ones who arranged this ‘boxer’ to play chess with the ‘praised Fischer’ in the foreground. These people are much more serious [then Trump],” the analyst concluded.
