Iran challenges US hegemony

Iran seeks the withdrawal of the United States from the Middle East and has thereby effectively challenges US hegemony, Rossa Primavera News Agency Middle Eastern Desk wrote.

Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on March 12 advised neighboring countries to close the US military bases located on their territories. This statement was made against the backdrop of ongoing strikes by Iranian Armed Forces against the Arabic states in the Middle East.

“I recommend that they shut down those bases as soon as possible, because … security and peace have been nothing more than a lie,” Khamenei said.

It is clear that Khamenei’s statement is not some kind of friendly advice, but a clear signal to neighboring countries, “If you do not want to remain targets for strikes, sever your military ties with the United States.” Neutrality in the region has effectively become impossible.

This warning sounds quite convincing given that the United States has lost important military facilities in the Middle East, is suffering human losses, and is spending billions of dollars on an operation that was planned to be completed in three days. Iran is not just defending itself, but dictating the agenda.

The entire world has seen that the presence of US military bases on your territory does not guarantee protection but, on the contrary, carries a threat to security. Iran has challenged US hegemony by showing that the US military machine is not an invulnerable shield, but a huge, expensive, and vulnerable target standing right “in the yard” of those who had counted on its support.
