In the event of further escalation in the region, the Iranian Armed Forces intend to use only missiles with warheads weighing more than one ton. The commander of the Aerospace Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), General Majid Mousavi, on March 9, Iran’s state television informed.
“From this moment on, Iran will not launch a single missile with a warhead lighter than one ton,” Mousavi noted.
The general added that such munitions have “greater range and a much wider area of destruction,” which makes them more effective under the conditions of modern military conflicts.
Iran has always sought to strengthen its military position in the Middle East, especially in light of many years of conflicts and tensions with neighboring states. Since the early 2000s, the country has been actively developing its missile technologies, which has caused irritation of Western countries.
