Armageddon may be closer than it seems; commanders in many branch of US military have already begun openly preparing soldiers for the end of the world, calling President Donald Trump anointed by Jesus to hasten the Second Coming, Rossa Primavera News Agency Religion Desk notes.
On March 3, the US non-profit Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) stated that over the course of four days it had received 200 complaints from US troops from more than 50 military bases across every branch of US military. According to MRFF, commanders at briefings are urging them not to fear the war that has begun with Iran, since it is “part of God’s divine plan.”
The commander also argued that Trump “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,” MRFF quoted one soldier as saying.
Soldiers also report that commanders read them passages from the Book of Revelation, better known as the Apocalypse of John.
MRFF is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005. The foundation advocates for the protection of the constitutional right to freedom of religion for all US Armed Forces members and fights against attempts to impose religious doctrines on them. It collects complaints from US Armed Forces members who are afraid to file official reports about harassment.
In May 2025, MRFF reported that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth holds monthly official prayer meetings at the Pentagon during working hours and sends out corresponding invitations to subordinates. Overall, the number of complaints to the organization has risen sharply since Trump came to power.
Trump is openly supported by the large religious movement known as the New Apostolic Reformation. The organization believes that the Earth must be prepared for what it considers the Second Coming of Christ.
It is one thing when there is a small group of people dreaming of the end of the world. But the situation takes on a completely different character if this idea has taken hold within the leadership of the US Armed Forces. If commanders at 50 bases are openly preaching, it means they are confident they will not be punished for it. It is even possible they were ordered to do so.
It is impossible to negotiate with an army that blindly believes in Trump’s divine mission, because for it any compromise would be a betrayal of God. The world is entering an era in which people standing at the nuclear button may be aligning their actions with the Book of Revelation rather than with the interests of their country.
