“Trumpism” is inhomogeneous, and there are three different projects inside it, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on February 20 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.
The political scientist noted that the so-called “Trumpism” is not homogeneous, and there are three projects inside it. The first one is a Christian conservative project. Kurginyan stressed that “its power in its simplicity and a sort of vague massiveness, it is large.” However, the political scientist indicated that this first kind of “Trumpism” is not constant as it drifts from evangelism towards radical Catholicism.
The second kind of “Trumpism,” according to the leader of Essence of Time, is associated with American politician Stephen Bannon, who was very close to Donald Trump, then he somewhat stepped aside, but not too much. As the political scientist noted, Bannon’s idol is Italian esoteric philosopher Julius Evola, a friend of Hitler and Himmler who campaigned for the destruction of the contemporary world order.
“But there is no contemporary world there, it must be destroyed. Culture must be blown up, yes. These are all outdated institutions, and the world must be built in an absolutely different way on the ruins of all this, on the ruins of Modernity,” Kurginyan explained Evola’s logic.
The third “Trumpism,” according to the leader of Essence of Time, is the “dark enlightment” followed by American businessman, billionaire Peter Thiel, people from the Silicon Valley etc. In this project, the political scientist noted, “the constant of the American politics named democracy is dramatically denied, and another kind of a world is built, a new and more ominous than Bannon’s.”
Sergey Kurginyan indicated that these three kinds of “Trumpism” compete with each other, and there are also the Democrats with their project of post-humanity waiting for their time to come. The leader of Essence of Time stressed that a huge philosophical discussion about these issues is ongoing, which is centered around Peter Thiel. The political scientist added that the US establishment lost its moral carcass with puritanical constants (for example, Peter Thiel is an official homosexual.)
Kurginyan stressed that the United States is “Rome in its decline with all the formulas of debauchery.” He explained that all the moral standards were undermined together with the bourgeoisie world of Modernity.
