Israel-US War against Iran. Outcomes of the second day

Following Khamenei’s death, the Iranian Armed Forces announced the launch of the most powerful offensive operation in the history of the Iranian Armed Forces…

US President Donald Trump, announced that the United States has begun a large-scale military operation against Iran. He published a video of his address on his social network Truth Social.

Trump accused Iran of an “unending campaign of bloodshed and mass murder” directed against the United States and its allies. He also explained the start of the operation by saying that Washington had run out of patience in negotiations over the nuclear deal.

Iran launched about 1,200 missiles “in various directions” in response to US and Israeli strikes on the republic’s territory. This was stated by Brigadier General of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Ebrahim Jabbari.

Iran attacked 14 US military bases in the Middle East. This was reported by the Iranian agency Tasnim.

“In addition to vital and military centers, security centers of the Zionist regime were struck, as well as 14 important US bases in the region; hundreds of personnel from the forces of the US aggressor and the [Israeli] regime were destroyed,” said the spokesperson for the Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces on Iranian television.

The Iranian Navy announced over radio communications a ban on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters wrote.

Earlier, the agency wrote that major oil companies had suspended shipments of crude oil, fuel, and LNG through the Strait of Hormuz. A large share of oil and gas exports from the Persian Gulf countries also passed along this route.

France, Germany, and the United Kingdom distanced themselves from the US and Israeli attack on Iran, stating that they were not participating in strikes on the Islamic Republic and calling for a resumption of negotiations. This was stated in a joint declaration by the leaders of the three countries.

“We did not participate in these strikes, but are in close contact with our international partners, including the United States, Israel, and partners in the region.” the statement reads.

European leaders also condemned Iranian strikes on countries where US bases are located (without mentioning the presence of those bases, nor the fact that strikes on them began after the attack on the republic).

As a result of the US and Israeli attack on Iran, 201 people were killed and more than 740 were injured. This was reported by Red Crescent representative Mojtaba Khalidi. According to him, a total of 24 provinces of the country were affected by the attack.

Up to 160 people may have been killed in the strike on a girls’ primary school in Minab, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.

“During the attack by the Zionist regime on a school in the city of Minab, 150–160 of our girls were killed,” he said.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the US and Israeli operation. Iranian state and pro-government agencies reported his death. According to media reports, Khamenei was murdered in his residence.

Following Khamenei’s death, the Iranian Armed Forces announced the launch of “the most powerful offensive operation in the history of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” The statement said the operation would begin “in a few moments” and would be directed “against the occupied territories and the bases of US terrorists.”
