The European leaders pursue the interests of Ukraine rather than those of their countries; at the same time they are getting prepared for a direct war against Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told journalist of the Russia One channel Pavel Zarubin who published an excerpt of the interview on his Telegram channel.
According to the diplomat, Europe is trying to split Russia and the US because the latter, the European officials believe, increasingly diverges from the interests of the EU.
Lavrov emphasized the word “interests.” According to him, the majority of the European politicians exchanged the interests of their countries for those of the Kiev regime.
Meanwhile, they “use this regime in every possible way to fight Russia, and they are openly preparing for their direct involvement in the war,” the Russia foreign minister added.
In contrast to Europe, Lavrov stressed, Russia, China, India, UAE, and some other countries protect their own interests on the globe. This makes them predictable and respected by their neighbors, he noted.
Previously, Lavrov said that Russia had no aggressive plans against Europe, and the suggested that appropriate written guarantees should be signed, which although had to take place on a mutual basis.
If Europe nevertheless wants to begin a war against Russia, Russia is ready right now for that, he added.
