If the US in its new National Security Strategy plans to build up its military power to an extent allowing to defeat any state it does so for a reason, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on December 12 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.
Commenting the new US National Security Strategy the political scientist urged not only to pay attention to what is written there about Russia but also “to read it all in general.” He noted that this strategy, similarly to the previous ones, maintains the US domination.
“Every doctrine fundamentally maintains one clause. I will quote it close to the source: ‘it is unacceptable that any power could reach a level from which it would be able to challenge the domination of the United States,’” the leader of Essence of Time explained.
Kurginyan stressed that the US cannot allow any state to approach a level from which it would be able to challenge it. And if it comes close to this level the US will seek to bring it down. According to the political scientist, “this is a strategic constant of all US documents regulating the actual policy of the United States.”
At the same time, Sergey Kurginyan pointed out that the second paragraph the Strategy declares strengthening US military power. To this end, the political scientist quoted Anatoly Kuznetsov’s novel Babi Yar, “The world is in trouble if gangs of degenerates herd millions of people to death, and they go there making their choice and waiting for their turn… If a tiny cylinder contains enough energy to destroy Moscow, New York, Paris, or Berlin, and these cylinders accumulate and hover in the air day and night…” And, Kurginyan stressed, further the novel poses a question: “What for?”
Returning to the issue of strengthening the military power of the US, the political scientist suggested that the same question should be asked.
“So, speaking about strengthening the military power of the United States, no one must dare to think that this power will not eliminate everyone in a second. What is it for?” he said.
Speaking at the Reagan National Defense Forum on December 6 in California, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth emphasized US President Donald Trump’s commitment to strengthening the US armed forces.
“Make no mistake about it: President Trump is hellbent on maintaining and accelerating the most powerful military the world has ever seen; the most powerful, the most lethal and American-made … the Arsenal of Freedom,” Hegseth said.
