In order to start a war again China the US first has to defeat Russia, and this is Washington’s intention under the guise of US President Donald Trump’s “peaceful” rhetoric, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on October 10 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.
Discussing the current US political situation where alleged conservatives came to power, Sergey Kurginyan reminded that Russia is a Christian civilization, but an alternative one. The idea that conservatives at power in the US are better for Russia is wrong. For the West, Russia is “a pain in the neck for many reasons,” the analyst believes.
“Firstly, as our song says, ‘We are peaceful people, but our armored train is ready on a sidetrack.’ Russia has always been on a sidetrack of Modernity and humanism. We are a Christian civilization, but an alternative one, an Orthodox one; this is not Rome, but Byzantium. We are a communist civilization, although this is a Western idea. And it is always humanistic, and it absolutely worships Man and his ascendance. We never abandoned this. Russia cannot abandon this. It is historical.
By the way, in contrast to the great and wonderful Asian civilizations based on cyclicity, the Russian civilization, similar to the Western one, is not based on cyclicity. The Russian chronotope is linear. We move in history towards certain historical result. We cannot abandon history,” the political scientist notes.
We cannot – in contrast to the West, where, “on the one hand, there was Fukuyama with his rejection of history adopted by the [US] Democratic Party, and on the other hand Huntington (the author of the work The Clash of Civilizations Samuel Huntington – Rossa Primavera News Agency) adopted by the Republicans,” the analyst notes.
Meanwhile, everything related to Modernity, progress, and humanism “has gone down the drain, because starting from the Club of Rome no one wanted Modernity,” Kurginyan says. Back at that moment they said, “What development? What do we, the core of the humanity and the golden billion, need it for? We do not need development, we need an archaic periphery,” he adds.
The political scientist expressed confidence that it does not matter who is at power in the US, the liberals or the conservatives, the Democrats or the Republicans. The key is their intention to break Russia and thus open the way to Washington’s primary geopolitical goal, i.e. to weaken China. “If China rises the US is dead,” Kurginyan notes.
“US’ most dangerous enemies are India and China. And there is no difference between India and China. If they can be pitted against each other it is good for the US, but there is no difference. These are growing billion-strong civilizations, which keep moving along the trajectory of progress. And as long as they move along the trajectory of progress, they are a deadly threat,” the leader of Essence of Time believes.
