Kurginyan explains why Trump is trying to manipulate the Russians

Containing China is one of the foundations of US President Donald Trump’s policy, and he believes that Russia can be used in that struggle, philosopher, political scientist, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on October 3 during his program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio channel.

“Trump has his own constants that he follows zealously,” Kurginyan emphasized. He explained that containing China at any cost is one of these constants, because the PRC is the main threat to US hegemony.

“I have never doubted that Trump is a representative of this hegemony, and a far more serious one, in principle, than Biden,” the philosopher stated.

According to Kurginyan, Trump is internally convinced that he can easily manipulate Russia, the country that emerged from the ruins of the Soviet Union, “The Russians can easily be persuaded to change their position. We’ve done this to them before and will do it again, they fought against Hitler, they’ll fight against China.”

“He [Trump] is deeply convinced that the Russia that arose from the ruins of the Soviet Union is a country easily manipulated; that if he says a few kind words to it and maybe do it a few small favors, it will be delighted and, ‘rolling up its pants,’ run after Trump’s ‘Komsomol.’ He’s internally certain of this,” Kurginyan revealed, describing Trump’s view of Russia.

Kurginyan noted that the US leader harbors a sense of arrogance toward Russia. The philosopher stressed, however, that there is no one within the Russian leadership who would be willing to go to war with China. “No one will fight against it. For many reasons,” he said.

“First and foremost, no one wants it. Secondly, there’s no strength for it. And thirdly, no one [in Russia] will pull the US’s chestnuts out of the fire,” the political scientist explained, describing the consolidated position of all Russian elite groups.
