The totalitarian Moloch, into which modern left-wing political forces have transformed, faces a conservative wave worldwide, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on September 19 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.
Speaking about what “rightists” and “leftists” are in the global politics today, the political scientist indicated that the contemporary conservatives, i.e. the “rightists,” still attempt to keep to the old consensus between the “leftists” and the “rightists” that ensured the stability of the Western world for a long time, i.e. the belief in progress, humanism, human rights, and a two-party system as a form of dialogue. However, the “leftists” today are not leftists in the classical meaning, but they are “a hybrid of radical liberalism, totalitarian ideology, and cultural decay.” They do not hold discussions, but they shoot their opponents.
This is the context, Kurginyan says, in which the public murder of US right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk must be considered: this is not only a murder of a man, but it is the killing of the very possibility of a dialogue in politics and an act of denial of opponent as an equal participant of social life.
Therefore, a million-strong rally for Kirk in London is not only an unprecedentedly wide public protest, but it is a sign of the awakening of the conservative wave in the world. This is a reaction to decades of pressure, humiliation, and attempts by the “leftists” to erase traditional values, Kurginyan notes.
“This multi-million rally in London that gathered everybody… Do not you feel how this conservative wave is unfolding? You can take a look at other places on the planet, too, right? This is happening. Why is it happening? What does it bear? The inability to come to an agreement. Lack of discussion. Silencing. One-sided relationship,” Kurginyan comments.
This reminds that politics is the control of social energy, “If you want to drain this energy or do anything else, e.g. silence it, and it goes into depth, this is no politics anymore.”
Kurginyan stresses that the silencing approach will result in the failure of the “obstructors” and the social-political system itself.
“The same process is ongoing everywhere,” he says.
“If they enjoy a monopoly to say whatever they want while condemning their opponents as enemies whatever they say, what will be the result? The result will be a failure of those who take this stance. This is a delayed failure of the silencers. Because what they should do is use every minute of their political time to win in an open discussion. As soon as they reject it, they sign their own death sentence, and their country’s. This is the key philosophy,” the analyst stresses.
US conservative youth leader Charlie Kirk’s organization Turning Point USA established sites for political discussions where young people could hear various points of view. This call for open dialogue and the belief that one can prove that he is right using convincing arguments became Kirk’s key “fault” for those who are building a new reality through violence, intimidation, and enforcement of new norms.
