The inept and arrogant actions of US President Donald Trump toward Asian countries triggered very serious processes there, said political scientist, philosopher, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on September 5 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.
The political scientist used a metaphor to describe what is happening in the world and what the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) summit means in this process.
“If you take a piece of calcite (limestone) and throw it into sulfuric acid, at first you think: ‘So what? Two or three ripples, a little agitation.’ And then the reaction begins. What is happening now, that’s already the reaction, that’s already the world boiling,” he stressed.
Kurginyan explained that nothing definitive has been said yet, and the announced New Development Bank, established by BRICS, so far remains just words. “All these utopias, that the dollar will instantly collapse and so on, I’ve been hearing that for 40 years,” he added.
The political scientist noted that such conversations remind him of a novel by Louis Boussenard, where it was written, “And the Bushmen and Bechuana believe that their shamans can summon rain! And in the end, they are right. When their shamans chant for weeks on end to the sun, moon, and stars, the rain eventually begins to fall… sooner or later.”
“It’s the same here, someday the dollar will collapse. The question is when, and what bitter consequences we will face, but for now, that’s not the point,” the analyst clarified.
Returning to the metaphor of the calcite piece, he noted that “the calcite thrown by the USA, about which Trump said, ‘We don’t want to die in your embrace, but we don’t know what to do, so we’re showing off,’ has begun producing in the ‘sulfuric acid’ of a vast, strengthened, and immensely happy Asian world, not colonially humiliated but different, the first ‘chemical’ reactions.” These reactions of the Asian countries are what we are witnessing, Kurginyan explained.
“They are not very visible; they are expressed in smiles, handshakes, glances at one another, fairly calm statements, inside of which arises the feeling: ‘Oh, so that’s how it is?! Then we will…’” the political scientist emphasized.
He noted that the real meaning of the SCO, “with all its remarkable beauties that must not be devalued, and with all its evasions that must also be recognized,” is that “the silk noose was quietly and calmly strangling the United States, and now, under Trump, they reacted.” The United States reacted “stupidly, ineptly, arrogantly, but they reacted,” and this “sets everything else in motion,” Kurginyan concluded.
