US president’s idea to “make America great again” is good but it cannot be implemented using tariffs, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on September 5 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.
The US is losing its leading position in global economy and industry, and the centers of development have migrated to Asia. This is why Trump’s idea to “make America great again” is good but the American citizen has to become great again to implement it.
“MAGA, i.e. Make America Great Again, is a good idea, but it is crazy. Because first you must make the American citizen great again. This is what you have to start with. The fact that Trump was elected suggests that this WASP etc. is not yet dead,” Kurginyan explained.
According to him, in a certain period after the war in Vietnam the US authorities decided to deliberately “loosen” their society by neutralizing the most active part of it using drugs (the hippie movement) and sex revolution. Because this is how they could easier remain at power.
“The global capitalism, which is certainly led by the United States, decided in 1960s to transform its race horse into a weak horse to make it more comfortable to ride using drugs, hippies, debauchery, rights of ethnic groups. Anything that can transform this race horse into a weak horse. And it was transformed into an overfed, minimally languid horse. After Vietnam etc.,” Kurginyan explained.
However, now as decades have passed, the relaxed, “overfed,” narcotized American population cannot study and work the way Americans studied and worked 100-70 years ago. In this context, it is unclear how to “make America great again” because reviving industry requires educated and disciplined workers with reasonable salaries. They are something the US cannot get today.
This is why Trump is so “hysterical” with his draconian tariffs against China, India, and other countries.
