Kurginyan reminds who in the West was disappointed that Israel was established

Before the 32nd US president Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the Jews had no place in the US politics, and he was strongly against the establishment of the state of Israel, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on August 22 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.

The discussion about the establishment of the state of Israel took place in the context of the concerns around the policy of the Jewish state in the Gaza Strip and the unpleasant historical parallels involved.

Kurginyan reminded that the West did not support the Zionists. The UK was against the establishment of Israel, and even Roosevelt, who had introduced the Jews to the US politics, was strongly against the establishment of the Jewish state.

“The US of 1930s was a country where, of course, some financial-oligarchic or emerging financial-oligarchic Jewish capital existed. This is true. It was not solely Jewish, but it existed. However, the US was a country where in 1930s doors of restaurants could have signs ‘Jews and dogs are not allowed,’” the political scientist said.

According to him, before US president Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jews had no chances to enter the US politics.

“Roosevelt was the first to integrate the Jews in the US politics. [US Secretary of Treasury Henry] Morgenthau” – there were figures whom he integrated… Nevertheless, no one else got as mad from the idea that the state of Israel would be established as Roosevelt did. Because he called that a double loyalty policy,” the analyst said.

Roosevelt wanted the Jews to enter the US politics acknowledging themselves as Americans, Kurginyan added.

“But he said, what I do not need at all is, first, conflicts with Saudi Arabia, and second, Jews thinking what they value more, Israel or the United States. Roosevelt was absolutely positive about this,” the political scientist said.
