Kurginyan: Russia decides to integrate into Turkey instead of Europe

07.08.2025, Moscow.

After the conflict with Ukraine began and the entire West became involved in it, the Russian elite finally understood that we could not integrate into Europe, but it decided to integrate into Turkey instead, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on July 25 on the program Conversation with a Sage on radio Zvezda.

“It was decided that if we could not integrate into Europe we should integrate into Turkey. We need to integrate somewhere! And we began to integrate into Turkey,” Sergey Kurginyan explained.

The decision to integrate into Turkey was due to things like “we have quite a number of acquaintances there,” “we used to do some diplomatic work there, and we still have deep agents.”

“We will be friends. And we will use Turkey to enter the Mediterranean region again. And then it will be alright, we will have our pipelines there, some south streams instead of Nord Stream… And so on,” the political scientist described the sentiments of some part of our elite oriented to friendship with Turkey.

He explained that seeking friendship is good but the question is whether Turkey wants to be friends in return.

“Say, you wanted to be friends with the Europeans, and you sacrificed very much for the sake of this friendship, including the disintegration of the Soviet Union. But the Europeans refused to be friends with you! What if the Turks refuse, too? You will be friends, and it is right, very good, you should mitigate and cultivate them further on, good luck! But please ensure that the Turks do not want to wage war against us,” Sergey Kurginyan noted.

The political scientist reminded that it was not Russia that wanted to wage war against the Europeans, but the Europeans wanted to wage war against Russia. He noted that an incredible arms race is ongoing in Europe to fight Russia.

“Now you must ensure that the Turks do not want to wage war against us,” Kurginyan stressed. “What we absolutely do not need now is a Russian-Turkish war in parallel with the Russian-Ukrainian one! We cannot withstand it in our current condition, we cannot.”
