Russia had no reason to refuse the DPRK’s offer of military assistance in liberating the Kursk region, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference following talks with DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui in Wonsan on July 12.
“The offer of military assistance in liberating the Kursk region came from the North Korean side. We had no reason to refuse this sincere expression of solidarity. The DPRK itself proposes the forms in which we implement our strategic partnership agreement,” Lavrov said.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry once again expressed his gratitude for the contribution of the Korean military to the operation aimed at liberating the Kursk region. According to the minister, the Korean side confirmed its full support for all the goals of the Special Military Operation.
According to media reports, more than 10,000 soldiers from the DPRK took part in the liberation of the Kursk region, 600 of whom fell in battle. The funeral of the Korean soldiers was attended by the head of state, Kim Jong-un.
