By threatening the life of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Israel is depriving the ayatollah of the chance to reach an agreement, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan wrote in his article Iran-Israel War published in The Essence of Time newspaper, issue 636.
“There is information that Khamenei has already moved to the secure shelter. And he is not leaving it. What does this mean? It means that the Israelis have recklessly nullified the chances of the only person who would like to reach an agreement with them and the Americans,” the philosopher believes.
According to the leader of the Essence of Time movement, the ayatollah has shown himself to be a supporter of agreements with Israel and the US, despite his routine condemnations of the Americans and Zionism. In addition, the Supreme Leader of Iran is currently facing numerous internal challenges and a major war could seriously hinder his efforts.
In his article, the political scientist notes that if the information is true and Khamenei is really in a bunker, then this would lead to a kind of an isolation of the Iranian leader. According to the philosopher, Iranian society, being disconnected from the leader who is trying to solve the problem through negotiations, will only increase its potential for mobilization for war, which has already existed among both the elites and the ordinary population.
The leader of the Essence of Time movement explained that even the urban population of Iran, which is seriously oriented towards Western countries, will partially leave the country and thus will not be able to provide any support from within, and partially reverse its worldview orientation and grow to hate the Israelis and Americans. It will not be possible to find support for Western countries among the rural population.
“The rural population hates the West. And however modestly, it is oriented towards Islamic values. This population will definitely be mobilized for war,” concluded Sergey Kurginyan.
